Greetings from your all-volunteer Homeowner Association Board. Spring is here and soon “maybe” we will fully get outside.

Garage Sale Date Set
The date for our annual Preserve Garage Sale is Saturday, May 5th. Advertisements will be run in local papers to help get people here. There is no fee to participate so go through your stuff and make some easy money.
Couldn’t sell everything during the sale? Unwanted Junk Pick Up
The dumpsters will be available Friday, June 2nd by 4 and picked up Monday June 5th. Please do not throw any hazardous materials, tires, microwaves, TV’s, computers, paint or anything w/ Freon. These must be properly recycled through OCRRA. Please break down all large items to minimize space these items may take up. Please do not leave items outside the dumpster.
Yard Waste Pickup
The first pick up was Thursday, April 12 and then it’s every other Thursday through Dec 21, 2018, plus a Christmas Tree Pickup.
All brush must be placed curbside or at the edge of pavement in front of each property the night prior to designated collection day or by 6:00 am the day of your pick-up.
Collection of the brush is to include leaves, vegetation (pumpkin and apples), tree and shrub branches, grass clippings, Christmas trees and other acceptable yard waste. Brush should be tied in bundles with twine or string or placed in brown recyclable yard waste bags.
No materials will be collected in trash or plastic bags (they are not recyclable).
Bundles of the brush may not be more than 50 lbs. each and bundles may not exceed 5 feet in length.
Preparing Brush for Pick Up
• Brush put out for collection must not block sewer drains or roads.
• Bundles Should be tied with twine/string or placed in a plastic, or metal container.
• Bundles may not exceed 5 feet in length.
• Containers and bundles of the brush may not be more than 50 pounds each.
• No materials will be collected in trash or plastic bags (they are not recyclable).
If you do miss a pickup please do not leave your yard waste by the road until the pickup 2 weeks later. Please store the yard waste and then take it out he night before, the same you do your trash cans.
Illegal Dumping
It is illegal to dump anything, to include yard waste anywhere in the Preserve. A concern is where we locate the dumpsters. Some residents have been using the end of the road there to dump a number of items. The property adjoining this road is private property and belongs to neither the nearby residents nor the Preserve.
The Annual Meeting & Block Party
As laid out in the By-Laws of the HOA, each year a meeting of all the residents in The Preserve must be conducted. This year’s annual meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, September 8 at 2 PM.
Last year we had the annual block party catered by Toss ’n’ Fire Pizza. It was a great hit. Please let us know if you have any new suggestions regarding this fun-filled annual party. This year we are planning on holding another block party, immediately after the annual meeting.
Speed and Safety in the Neighborhood
Please pay attention to the speed limits and stop signs. We have lots of kids in the neighborhood that might not always look both ways before darting into the road.
Starting an Addition, Pool or other Project?
Please consult the website under the Modifications tab for the proper procedure. There is an Architectural Committee that needs to approve your planned project BEFORE the project can begin. Modifications, additions or alterations undertaken without prior approval by the Board of Directors are subject to removal, at the home owner’s expense. Above-ground pools are not allowed in the Preserve. Applications should be sent to HOA Vice President Dwayne Wisbey <geodep@aol.com>
Pets
Please remember to curb your dog. The Town of Pompey has a MANDATORY leash law.
Satellite Dish Installation
All of our residents want to maintain that curb appeal that brought us to the Preserve. If you are planning to attach it to the house or nearby please use some landscaping nearby to keep it from being a lawn ornament.
Campers, Boats etc.
Campers, boats and other items are not allowed to be stored in your driveway. In the past, there has been a one week maximum in your driveway with the understanding that it is only temporary to allow transition to storage or another place.
