Hello Preserve HOA members!
Thank you for working hard to make the Preserve a great looking neighborhood! We want to take a few minutes to share upcoming events, important dates, and general Home Owners Association (HOA) information.
Welcome to all Home Owners in the Preserve
The neighborhood always has new people moving in. Welcome to all new homeowners. This is a friendly community and most everyone is willing to lend a hand. Please feel free to reach out to the board with any questions. Please update your email address in our homeowner database – http://bit.ly/preserve-database

Preserve Clean Up Day Was Huge Success!!
Thank you to all those who came out for our Preserve clean up day. It was a huge success. If your kids are at Enders Road Elementary School, this is a great way to have them complete their community service requirement.
Garage Sale
The annual garage sale will be Saturday, May 30th. Advertisements will be run in local papers to help get people here. There is no fee to participate so go through your stuff and make some easy money. We will advertise an 8am start time.
Unwanted Junk Pick Up
Couldn’t sell everything during the sale? The dumpsters will be available Friday June 5th by 4pm and they will be picked up Sunday the 7th by 4 PM. Please do not throw any hazardous materials, tires, microwaves, TV’s, computers, paint or anything w/ Freon. These must be properly recycled through OCRRA. Please break down all large items to minimize space these items may take up. Please do not leave items outside the dumpster. Just the same as you would not want the junk left next to your home the same goes for the people whose homes are nearby the dumpster.

Illegal Dumping
It is illegal to dump anything, to include yard waste anywhere in the Preserve. An area of concern is where we locate the dumpsters. Some residents have been using the end of the road there to dump a number of items. The property adjoining this road is private property and belongs to neither the nearby residents nor the Preserve.
Yard Waste
In an effort to curb the dumping of yard waste in the common areas of The Preserve. The HOA board has contracted with a hauler – “Last Chance Recycling, Inc.” to pick up HOA Member yard waste twice each month, April through December. The schedule is the first and third Monday of every month. So as to differentiate between trash and yard waste please put trash and yard debris on separate sides of your driveway. The yard waste pickup started, Monday, April 6
We suggest putting your yard waste in a brown bag to help distinguish the yard waste from the trash. We’d also like to make sure on windy days that the yard waste does not blow around the neighborhood.

The Annual Meeting
As laid out in the By-Laws of the HOA, each year a meeting of all the residents in The Preserve must be conducted. This year’s annual meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 2 PM with a rain date of September 19th. Please attend, we are interested in your feedback and concerns! If you can’t, please send in your proxy so we can reach the required quorum.
Block Party
Last year we had the annual block party catered by the Dinosaur BBQ again. It was a great hit. Please let us know if you have any new suggestions regarding this fun filled annual party. This year we are planning on holding another block party, immediately after the annual meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 2 PM with a rain date of September 19th.
Here are a few issues that you should be aware of:
Speed and Safety in the Neighborhood
Please pay attention to the speed limits and stop signs. We have lots of kids in the neighborhood that might not always look both ways before darting into the road. At the last 2 meetings, several residents expressed concerns and asked if the town could lower the established speed limits. Pompey deferred, stating that the speed limits are state jurisdiction and it did not have the authority to change the limit. This is especially a concern in the mornings when our kids are waiting for the school bus, please be mindful.
Starting an addition, pool or other building project?
Please consult the HOA website under the modifications tab for the proper procedure. There is an Architectural Committee that needs to approve your planned project BEFORE the project can begin. Modifications, additions or alterations undertaken without prior approval by the Board of Directors are subject to removal, at the homeowner’s expense. Above-ground pools are not allowed in the Preserve.
Pets
Please remember to curb your dog. The Town of Pompey has a MANDATORY leash law.
Campers, Boats etc.
Please know that campers, boats and other items are not allowed to be stored in your driveway.
Satellite Dish Installation
Please know that satellite dish installation is an addition that must be applied for through the HOA. All of our residents want to maintain that curb appeal that brought us to the Preserve. Planning to attach it to the house or nearby with some beautiful landscaping is all it takes!
